Shai is a partner and head of the arbitration practice in the law firm of Granot Speiser, Law Office, a boutique firm located in Tel-Aviv, Israel. His practice focuses mainly on complex commercial disputes, which have cross-border or multi-jurisdictional aspects.
Shai has extensive experience in representing Israeli and foreign companies and individuals in commercial disputes, including insurance claims, shareholders and M&A related disputes, D&O liability, IP disputes, class actions, real-estate disputes, professional negligence, product liability, and contractual disputes, before all of Israel’s judicial instances, including the Israeli Supreme Court, and in ADR proceedings.
Shai has advised and represented clients in international arbitration proceedings, under the ICC, LCIA, ICSID and AAA Rules and regularly advises on international arbitration matters.
Shai also regularly acts as a foreign legal counsel in disputes before foreign courts, including US Federal and State Courts, and handled drafting of expert opinions, discovery issues, and motion drafting in various cases.
Shai also advises clients on public and private international law matters, including international investment law, defense and homeland security, export control, and international trade.
Shai is the co-founder of Tel-Aviv Arbitration Day as well as a member of the Arbitration and Mediation committee of the Tel-Aviv District Bar Association, the commission on arbitration and ADR of ICC (Paris) and ICC Israel, the task force on emergency arbitrator of the ICC, the Panel of arbitrators of CIETAC and chairs the commission on trade and investment policy of ICC Israel.
He is fluent in Hebrew and English.
