Michał Jochemczak
Michał Jochemczak is a partner at Dentons in Poland, where he heads the Arbitration Practice and is the core member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.
He specializes in complex commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings. He has nearly 20 years of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients in arbitrations under the leading institutional rules (ICC, VIAC, LCIA) and in ad hoc domestic and international arbitrations. He also frequently appears before the Polish courts.
Michał has been involved in numerous high-profile and international disputes related to a variety of industry sectors, including oil and gas, energy, construction, infrastructure, and real estate. He has particular experience in joint-venture, M&A, real estate, construction and corporate disputes.
He advises clients on international civil law and has significant experience in the fields of jurisdiction, enforcement of judgments and conflict of laws. Additionally, he provides legal advice to creditors, management and shareholders in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. He has in-depth knowledge of corporate matters and procedural issues relating to competition law.
In 2023, Michał was appointed to the Arbitral Council of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce (SA KIG) for the term 2023-2026 and was selected as a member of the Court’s Appointment Committee. He was also a member of the ad hoc committee that drafted the new Rules of Arbitration of the Lewiatan Arbitration Court.
