Dr Anke Sessler

Dr. Anke Sessler is an independent arbitrator and widely recognized as one of Germany’s leading disputes lawyers. She has broad experience as presiding and party-appointed arbitrator under all major arbitral institutions in complex arbitration proceedings involving industrial corporations and financial service providers relating to inter alia M&A and supply contracts, joint ventures and other commercial agreements, as well as in shareholder and investment disputes. Dr. Sessler has more than 30 years of experience as a disputes partner in two leading law firms and as head of litigation of a global industrial corporation. Until recently, from 2014 to 2025, she was a disputes partner at Skadden and led Skadden’s German disputes practice. In recognition of her longstanding experience, she has been repeatedly recommended in rankings such as Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, Chambers Germany and Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal), as well as honored by Best Lawyers for international arbitration, litigation and mediation.
