Ilias Bantekas, LLB (Athens), LLM, PhD (Liverpool), BA/Dip Theology (Cambridge), FCIArb, is Professor of Transnational Law at Hamad bin Khalifa University (Qatar Foundation), Adjunct Professor of international law at Georgetown University, Edmund A Walsh School of Foreign Service and Senior Associate Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) University of London. He has advised private clients, international law firms and inter‐governmental organisations (UN, UNDP, EU, Council of Europe and others) in most fields of international law and transnational contracts. In addition he regularly serves as arbitration in international commercial disputes. He has written more than 180 peer reviewed articles in leading journals, such as the American Journal of International Law, British Yearbook of International Law, European Journal of International Law, Arbitration International, American Review of International Arbitration, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, Berkeley Journal of International Law and others.
