Dispute Resolution in M&A Transactions
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2026

Travelling to Warsaw

Warsaw is very well connected by air, offering direct flights to major destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), located only about
20 minutes from the city centre, is Poland’s largest and most efficient airport, serving as the primary gateway for international travellers. Whether you are arriving from within Europe or from overseas hubs, you will find frequent connections operated by numerous global airlines.

Upon landing, you can easily reach the city centre thanks to excellent transport links, including a fast airport train service, several bus lines, taxis and reliable ride-share options. Travel times are short and connections operate throughout the day. A secondary airport, Warsaw Modlin (WMI), also serves selected international routes and offers shuttle transfers to the city.

We encourage participants to book flights in advance to secure the best travel options and prices for the conference dates.

Arriving by train

Warsaw is well connected to several major European cities through an extensive rail network, offering a convenient and comfortable alternative to air travel. International routes operate from destinations such as Berlin, Vienna, Prague and Bratislava, with onward connections available from many other European hubs. Travelling by train allows you to enjoy
a relaxed journey and is an environmentally friendly choice that helps reduce your carbon footprint.

Warsaw’s main railway stations, including Warszawa Centralna and Warszawa Gdańska, provide easy access to public transport, taxis and hotels across the city.

We encourage participants to check timetables and travel options with their national railway operators when planning their trip to the conference.

Visa Requirements

Participants travelling to the conference from outside Poland must enter through authorised Schengen border points and carry a valid passport or travel document. This document must have been issued within the last 10 years and remain valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure from the Schengen Area. Travellers from EU or Schengen countries do not require a visa to enter Poland. However, visitors from other countries may need a visa unless exempt under EU or bilateral agreements with Poland.

All travellers may be asked to justify
the purpose of their stay and present supporting documentation, such as
a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, sufficient financial means, an event pass or registration confirmation.

We recommend verifying visa requirements well in advance and contacting the nearest Polish consulate or embassy if a visa is required. Official documentation from the conference (such as proof of registration) may support your application.

Travel tips

Official Language

The official language of Poland is Polish. English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, and major tourist areas across Warsaw. Staff at airports, train stations and conference venues generally communicate in English without difficulty.

Taxes

Value Added Tax (VAT) in Poland is included in most retail prices. Non-EU visitors may be eligible for VAT refunds on certain purchases when leaving the European Union. For refund procedures and eligibility, please check with authorised stores offering “Tax Free” shopping or with customs services at the airport.

Electricity

Converters are generally not provided by hotels, so please verify if your electronic devices support 230 V before travelling.

Currency and payments

Poland uses the Polish złoty (PLN). Major international credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, shops and taxis. Mobile payments, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and contactless cards, are commonly used. ATMs are easy to find throughout the city, including at the airport and near the main conference areas.

Climate

Late May in Warsaw offers pleasant spring-to-early-summer weather. Average daytime temperatures typically range from 18°C to 23°C, with evenings cooling to around 10–13°C. Rain is possible but not frequent, usually in the form of light showers. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for the evenings and an umbrella in case of brief rainfall.

Mobility

The standard ZTM travel passes (24 hour or 72 hour tickets) can be used on all public transport services within the city, including buses, trams, the metro and urban trains (SKM). These passes offer unlimited travel within the selected timeframe and provide an affordable and convenient way to move around Warsaw.

Reaching the city centre from Warsaw Chopin Airport is quick and straightforward thanks to the SKM airport train service. Trains operate throughout the day, offering a fast, reliable and inexpensive connection between the airport and central Warsaw. Two SKM lines serve the airport: S2 and S3. Both depart directly from the station located inside the airport terminal (follow signs for “Trains/SKM”). The journey to Warszawa Główna, one of the city’s central railway stations, typically takes around 25 minutes.

Warsaw offers direct airport buses operating from early morning to late evening. Bus lines 175 (to the city centre) and 188 (east–west connections) run frequently and stop near major hotels, metro stations and railway hubs. They are a simple and inexpensive way to travel between Warsaw Chopin Airport and the city centre.

Warsaw’s extensive bus network (operated by ZTM) covers the entire city and surrounding districts, offering efficient daytime and night services. Bus lanes on major streets help maintain regular schedules, though during peak traffic the metro or trams may be faster alternatives.

Urban SKM trains and regional KM trains provide fast connections across Warsaw. These services also stop at key transport hubs such as Warszawa Centralna, Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Wschodnia. In many cases, ZTM tickets are valid on SKM services, making them a convenient option for longer distances within the city.
